Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
Hate to say it, WHL rocking tonight. Apart from the final 6 mins, was the best noise away this season I've experienced, from both sides.
Apart from the top tiers, everybody standing, singing, proper noise.
This has to be sorted at the OS, unless the owners get involved we will never experience this again

I must be hard of hearing then as I often struggled to hear the other end at Upton Park. I also went to plenty of games at UP in recent times when the crowd was deathly silent.

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
I could hear the other end perfectly well at UP, now I've not gone deaf since the move so it figures the atmosphere and accousatics were better at UP.

The acoustics at Upton Park where shit, in fact for many years the general atmosphere at Upton Park was shit apart from a handful of games each season. Don't get me wrong I will miss it but it is a myth that Upton Park generated a great atmosphere week in week out.

Yeah that's an idea how about all the people who don't like and feel the heart has been ripped out the club so all the newcomers can grass us up for standing and shouting and the stewards can throw us out.

Good idea that Virginia.

Why don't you lot stop moaning about the OS and embrace it? I've been there and it isn't perfect, but so what?

Nothing's going to change. Deal with it; make lots of noise, per Scum and MU and get excited.

Bunch of moaners; don't like it.

Interesting to hear that life of Riley (no pun intended!)

My first experience of hearing the crowd noise inside the place was when I run up the stairs as we scored our first against Chelsea. Fuck me that was as loud as anything I heard at UP.

But even at the couple of other games I've been to (where the atmosphere certainly hasn't been rocking, at times when a big roar has gone round the I've thought it sounded really loud.

I didn't get to see hardly fuck all of the Man U when I went (thats another story) but again, for the time I was in the place, each time a big roar went round it sounded loud.

I'm sure the usual anti-OSers will just think I once again sticking up for the place but I'm only telling it how I've experienced it for myself.

Yes, there are definitely some shit things about the place (although admittedly for me that's more to do with the way the club are treating the fans and trying to sanitise the place). However, I still honestly think on its day the atmosphere could be rocking in there. Well, the Chelsea game actually proved that, so its sort of a fact!

Oh a sound gun.

I'll stick one in me back pocket next time I go.

I cannot hear the other end of the stadium when you can see they're singing, likewise them with us.

That's not good accoustics in the football ground sense.

Re: Owners take notice of the Lane tonight
No mate when the roof was completed. The stadium reached 110 decibels during the Olympics without the roif and registered nearly 125 decibels on a sound gun whilst i was there and reverberation was nearly 60% at the halfway line

Fick me most of whats been said on here is a load if bollocks. Accirding to some foitball only has an atmosphere if played in a foitball stadium that has sides. Its got fuck all to dk with how far the pitch us from the stands its called acoustics end of. Best atmosphere ive ever experienced at a football stadium was the Ilympic Stadium in Rome etween Lazio and Roma. Sorry to dissapoint all the whingers but yes there was even a running track.

You dont want to go to the ground dont go. But at least get your facts right. The acoustic tests at our ground were higher than both wembley and the emirates, if your wondering how i know i was fucking there when they did it. You want to moan about stewards, travel, hot dogs, beer, awag fans etc fine thats your right but dont fault the stadiums ability to create an atmosphere if provided with the noise beacuse you have no argument.

They would kill to have a final game like we had. I hope Man Utd destroy them.

Nothing has ever impressed me about their ground and the new one certainly won't.

We used to take hordes of fans to Highfield Road. Easy to get to, big allocation, non-confrontational fans and a bit of decent night-life.

The Lane, the fucking Lane. What a cunt, why bother coming on a West Ham site, sad little tosser, go back to your Spurs board or get off to school before you get a detention

I prefer the Ricoh to Highfield Road... really impressed with the Ricoh"

Each to their own Sold but for years Coventry was one of my favourite away games. Only went to the Ricoh once, underwhelmed
